| Summary | Since 2019, IRC has developed a glossary of climate change, clean energy, and science terms through translation workshops with translators from all six Inuvialuit Settlement Region communities and three dialects. Inuvialuit youth have also joined, supporting inter-generational knowledge transfer and youth engagement. The glossary provides accurate translations, reduces confusion, and improves communication between communities and researchers. By making terminology accessible, it fosters meaningful community participation in adaptation, mitigation, policy, and research, while strengthening Inuvialuit stewardship of land, water, and ice for future generations. |
