Summary This document summarizes the results of an analysis of the economic costs in all NWT communities which can be attributed to permafrost impacts on community assets. Based on the analysis, we conclude there is a high likelihood of significant economic costs in 33 NWT communities that can be attributed to permafrost impacts on community assets. The total costs of the permafrost impact on assets in the 33 communities is in the order of $1.3 billion1. On an annual basis, the economic losses are likely in the order of $51 million.
