Summary The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) commissioned this flood study to update and improve understanding of flood hazards for the Charter Community of Fort Good Hope (Rádęyį̨lį̨ Kóę́), where spring breakup ice jam flooding has repeatedly threatened homes, infrastructure, and traditional lands. The study provides the technical foundation for new flood inundation and flood hazard maps to support emergency response, community planning, and climate resilient decision making. It incorporates new bathymetric/topographic survey data for the study area, information on floods and ice jams that have affected the community, advanced hydraulic and ice jam modelling methods, and considers potential impacts of climate change on ice jam floods.
